American Officials Leak Name of Manchester Suicide Bomber

He's been identified by US officials. Son of Libyan immigrants who allegedly fled Gaddafi's regime.
If the bomber died in the blast wouldn't they need some forensics for proper identity?
Of course a deceased victim wouldn't necessarily be the bomber anyway..
How could the US have identified this person so quickly and publicly?
That put a bit of pressure on  Theresa May, no?

 Live Blog
More details are emerging about suicide bomber Salman Abedi.
Local reports said he was the child of Libyan refugees who fled to the UK to escape Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's regime, and was one of four children.
Theresa May previously said the bomber had been identified by security agencies, but that they were unable to name them at such an early stage of the investigation.
However, American officials appeared to have leaked Abedi's identity to media on the other side of the Atlantic.

Armed police raided the home of Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi, ordering residents indoors as they carried out a controlled explosion.
Elsmore Road, where 23-year-old Abedi was registered as living, became the centre of the investigation into Monday's outrage.
Neighbours in the red-bricked semi-detached street said they knew little about who was living at the home.
The man who blew himself up during an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena has been named as 23-year-old Salman Abedi, US officials have said. Abedi killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 59 more shortly after Grande had finished her performance last night. Isis claimed responsibility for the attack. More follows
Two curiosities- The US names the perp and ISIS takes the responsibility

The Independent: Manchester Arena attacker identified: Police know who carried out suicide bombing, says Theresa May
Police have identified the Manchester Arena attacker but it is too early in the investigation to release his name, Theresa May has said.
“The police and security services believe they know the identity of the perpetrator but at this stage of their investigations we cannot confirm his name," the Prime Minister added.
“The police and emergency services have as always acted with great courage and on behalf of the country I want to express our gratitude to them - they acted in accordance with the plans they have in place and the exercises they conduct to test those plans and they performed with the utmost professionalism."

Police were urging members of the public not to speculate on the terrorist's identity as the investigation continued.
At least 22 people were killed and 59 more injured in the blast, which the foyer between Manchester Arena and Victoria station as thousands of people flooded out of an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night.
There has been no official claim of responsibility for the atrocity, but both Isis and al-Qaeda have been calling for attacks on the West and issued bomb-making guides.
Ian Hopkins, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, said investigators believe the attack was carried out by a lone suicide bomber “carrying” a homemade device.“The priority is to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network,” he added.
Interesting? So with ISIS taking responsibility do we now have a network connection that takes up back to Libya? Or  will this be the justification for stepping up military intervention in Syria/Iraq?

Manchester news from Ally!

Terror attack in my city. Shocked. What are your thoughts? Police making arrests near my house.

Manchester has the immigrant population in the UK after England, and is also the second largest city. Lots of immigrants and it generally known for being a very friendly city-little discrimination. In the EU referendum, the Manchester population overall voted to remain so this attack will definitely serve to create tension in one of the most immigrant-friendly cities in the UK. I am of that feeling too, Penny. They knew what the result was going to be before they held the referendum and would not have called for it if they thought the people would not vote the way they wanted them to.

And yes, someone arrested quite quickly. Friends reporting that there are police vans outside a shopping mall arresting a man. How'd they find him so quick?? For all I know, it is a false flag!
If Ally leaves any additional info I will post it here!

Trump's "Beautiful Military Equipment" Tour Unites Theocratic Islam & Israel

One wouldn't have thought theocratic Islam & Israel needed any more uniting?
This is all about Iran. Very clearly.

NBC:
"One of the things that we will discuss is the purchase of lots of beautiful military equipment because nobody makes it like the United States," Trump said  "First that means jobs" he said, adding "it also means frankly great security back here which we want."
The beautiful military equipment tour for "frankly great security". The world according to Trump. While in Saudi Arabia Trump signed the ‘Largest Single Arms Deal in American History’
The United States and Saudi Arabia have inked a $110 billion arms deal, the largest in American history.
The arms deal will see the U.S. providing Saudi Arabia with a "full spectrum of capabilities," including tanks, artillery, helicopters, armored carriers, combat ships, and an assortment of other advanced weapons systems, according to senior Trump administration officials working on the agreement.
The massive arms package is part of a larger effort by the Trump administration to boost U.S. allies in the region
The immediate 110 billion dollar package is just the beginning of a ten year- 350 billion dollar spending spree that will serve to burden the Saudi people with debt!
US-Saudi Arabia seal weapons deal worth nearly $110 billion immediately, $350 billion over 10 years
The agreement, which is worth $350 billion over 10 years and $110 billion that will take effect immediately, was hailed by the White House as "a significant expansion of…[the] security relationship" between the two countries.

Riyadh – The Arab-Islamic-US unveiled in Riyadh on Sunday a close partnership between the leaders of the Arab and Islamic worlds and the United States

The summit, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, brought together US President Donald Trump with the leaders and representatives of 55 Arab and Muslim countries, who all voiced a readiness to form a reserve of 34,000 soldiers to back counter-terrorism operations.

On the regional level, the gatherers at the Riyadh summit stressed the importance of good neighborly practices and avoiding meddling in the internal affairs of other countries. The sovereignty and independence of countries should be respected.

They will take the necessary measures to prevent and combat terror crimes in close cooperation of these states.

They hailed the announcement of the intention to form the strategic Middle East alliance in the city of Riyadh. A number of countries will take part in it in order to achieve regional and global peace and security.

They completely rejected the practices of the Iranian regime that are targeting the region and world’s security and stability. They also rejected its ongoing support of terrorism and extremism.

They vowed to confront its (Iran) actions and exert efforts to preserve the security of the region and world. They will confront Iran’s disruptive actions with determination through joint cooperation, stressed the Riyadh Declaration.
Defence Stocks Rise Across the Board as Trump Signs Massive Arms Deal in Advance of More War

Defense and aerospace stocks rose across the board in premarket trade Monday, after Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states signed arms deals worth $350 billion with the U.S. over the weekend.

President Donald Trump says Israel's Arab neighbors are realizing they share a "common cause" with Israel in the threat from Iran.

Trump is urging the U.S. and Israel to boost cooperation against common threats, and declaring the Iran never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

He says Iran - Israel's chief enemy in the Middle East - must also cease funding, training and supplying weapons to terrorist groups.

Said the pot to the kettle?

Trump: Israel, Arab neighbors share common cause
Trump & Saudi Stooge
On Tuesday, the last details were apparently hammered out between the U.A.E.’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and U.S. President Donald Trump in their meeting in Washington after Trump's earlier meeting with Mohammed bin Salman, the 31-year-old son of the Saudi king and the de facto ruler of the kingdom.

Defacto ruler? Catch that word use? - I've talked about the division in KSA previously and bin Salman is favoured by the US.

Israel and Islamic theocracy march hand in hand
– Racing the clock ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit, Israel’s Knesset and government advanced the bill declaring its state once-and-for-all a Jewish nation.
The Knesset, or the Israeli parliament, had on May 10 given the preliminary approval to a bill draft proposed by the Likud party member and Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Avi Dichter.
Despite being given the initial green light, it needs to be debated by a parliamentary committee and voted on three more times in the plenum before it becomes part of the country’s so-called “basic laws”, which are similar to a constitution.
In and of itself, the bill calls for stark discrimination against Arab minorities, while paradoxically maintaining Israel’s alleged “democracy.”
The bill aside, Jewish fundamentalism is a reality in Israel and what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government are embarking on is to merely give Jewish fanaticism a legal definition. Shoring up Israel’s presence as a theocracy in the world.
Dichter’s bill not only encroaches on genuine rights of the original landowners, the Palestinians, but also announces Hebrew as the sole official language, devaluing Arabic from a primary language to merely holding “special status.”

The bill also confiscates the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
It stipulates that the right of self-determination is enjoyed only by Jews … A term at which one must stop and ask how can racism be more explicit than this?
This glows beyond the fog of politics– it is a fundamentalist narrative at its finest. Self-declared right to supremacy over others, and self-given right to deprive, isolate and eliminate counterparts cannot better define zealotry. Such a bill promotes legal preference in a push to erase their trace from both geography and history.
Israel the finest theocracy in the middle east- Undeniable as it is a nation created solely and only for followers of a specific religion.

Don't forget NATO meeting on the 25th

From earlier today!

No garden planting, yet. Sigh.

Still Waiting for that Anthropogenic Global Warming...

It's our traditional May 2/4 weekend- Get your 24 beers.Watch fireworks. Garden.
Also known as Victoria Day weekend
No gardening going on here.

The month of May is nearly over. Summer is just over 3 weeks away and we've had two, yes, two days of what I consider slightly warm temperatures for this time of year- 80 F or about 27- 28 C.
Two days for all of May- The rest of this month has been cold.Windy. Rainy. Below normal all month long.

Link: Short-lived summer in Ontario: Focus shifts to thunderstorms
Midsummer heat has been warmly welcomed across southern Ontario, with a two-day streak of temperatures surpassing 30 oC in some parts (not where I live)  of the region.
Yup, two days of warmth.
But cooler conditions are ahead, ( the whole month has been well below norm, except for two days)  along with a widespread risk of severe thunderstorms Thursday as the cold front moves through. Severe thunderstorm watches covered almost all of the south of the province in the afternoon, with some storms already sparking in areas further north in the early afternoon, and in most of the Greater Toronto Area by the late afternoon.
Looking to the end of May:
"Warmer than the first half of May, but no sustained 20 o+C weather in sight," Gillham says. "The pattern also becomes more unsettled again with next system of significance around Wednesday."
Here's hoping. Because May except for two days has been cold. 20 C = 68 Fahrenheit

How about the Atlantic Provinces- How about more snow?

50 cm of snow, more rain for Atlantic Canada long weekend

Sunday, May 21, 2017, 12:48 PM - The unofficial start of summer is here, but winter is still hanging on in Atlantic Canada.
Newfoundland in particular is the seeing the worst of it, with accumulating snow for northern parts of the island and Labrador, with rainfall elsewhere on the island. Though snowfall warnings were slowly dropping off Sunday, the system leaves behind very hefty totals, according to Environment Canada.
"Cartwright has reported snowfall amounts of 50 cm since Friday. Latest indications suggest another 5 cm can be expected before the snow tapers off tonight," the weather agency says.
Snow marking the kick off of summer in Newfoundland

Crops are weeks behind schedule, gardeners are waiting to plant until the sun comes out and winter jackets are still out in force.
On Monday, when temperatures reached 10.3 C, a new mark was set for the lowest May 15 daytime high, beating out the previous record of 10.6 C in 1965. That’s based on the temperature at the Victoria International Airport weather station, where Environment Canada has been collecting data since 1941.
On the bright side of things we got to see a whole pile of Kite Surfers at one of the local beaches. They were fully suited for the cold weather and high winds.  As we also were.
It was a very colourful display. Despite what had to be the cold temps of the Lake, which is now a secret,  no longer shared on a daily basis by Environment Canada.

And if someone can assist me in finding them I would love to know where they can be found?
I checked the marine forecast . They give you wind and waves. Water temperature used to be part of daily reporting..... but now it's secret. Same as historical temps. Secret.

The Doomsday Vault is NOT Flooded - AGW Cult Glossolalia

This is getting ridiculous- The constant overwrought dramatics. The claim of the flooded doomsday vault is more glossolalia , always accompanied by hysteria, that leaves the sane questioning, coherent thinker wanting something tangible. Something factual. Comprehensible. Something like, truth.

First  from the Guardian - Arctic Stronghold of Worlds Seeds Flood after Permafrost Melts
OMG the Doomsday Vault is DOOMED- Hysterical enough for you?
This type of spin follows a very predictable pattern of screaming headlines then later quiet clarifications- You can see this type of manipulation occur regularly and persistently regarding any and all concocted situations.  The flooded doomsday vault is a lie. I bring you the quiet clarification- Please make sure it gets some attention

LET'S GET REAL- The Doomsday Vault Isn't Flooded.....
But according to one of the vault’s creators, the reports are pretty overblown and everything’s fine.Well, the vault’s fine.
Cary Fowler, one of the creators of the vault:  “Flooding is probably not quite the right word to use in this case,” he told them. According to Fowler, a little bit of water has made its way into the entrance every year. Though he wasn’t present at the vault when the ‘flooding’ occurred this year, he insists that it’s a pretty routine occurrence.
The tunnel was never meant to be water tight at the front, because we didn’t think we would need that”-
Before you jump to a foolish conclusion about why they didn't need to make the tunnel entrance water tight, read on.
“Basically, there’s a 100-meter tunnel that serves as a walkway into the mountain and it goes downhill. Before you reach the vault doors, the ground shifts uphill. This little area allows water to collect and two pumps can evacuate it”
I'll repeat that little tidbit
"This little area allows water to collect and two pumps can evacuate it”

They planned for water removal via two pumps built in for just such a reason.  Knowing water would inevitably pool on a regular basis... which tells us they expected water to collect and they built in an ability for the water to be moved away
In fact, according to Fowler, if the water were to make it all the way uphill it would get hit with temperatures around minus 18 degrees celsius, freeze, and create a new barrier.
Minus 18 degrees celsius is plenty dam cold.( -0.4F ) In fact Fowler said if the water made it uphill it would freeze and create a barrier- Of course it would! Because it's very, very cold.

I've been busy the past couple of days and have left a bevy of posts for readers- Enjoy them

World Jewish Values Network WaPo Ad: Trump, Bomb Syria!

When the crematorium news made the rounds earlier this week I noticed and stated..
"We're getting into Holocaust™ territory with this claim.
Reinforcing well known, well worn mind viruses"
flashback:  Assad's (Hitler) Crematorium Claims the US

Keep that specific spin in mind as you read the next item up for your perusal.
The Jews (self-identified) say"President Trump: When you're in Israel Next Week- You'll be 140 miles from the Syria Crematoria (that most likely doesn't exist) For the Love of God (WTF?) Bomb it Now.

Directly below is the ad placed in WaPo by this Jewish values organization.

Exactly what kind of values do these people have?

Link: PR WEB Releases
The World Values Network (WVN), an organization that aims to advance America’s standing through the dissemination of Jewish values in politics, culture, and media, posted a full-page advertisement in WaPo’s Friday, May 19th edition publicly challenging President Trump to bomb the functioning Syrian Crematoria.
It's  extremely highly unlikely this claimed crematoria exists- The evidence was circumstantial. ie: concocted. Making it very clear Jewish interests want Trump to bomb Syria- Period!
"Clearly delineated as an anti-genocide plan, the WVN stresses that this initiative is critical given Syria’s relevance and close proximity to the Jewish State.

The advertisement also directly publicized the WVN’s upcoming annual Champions of Jewish Values Awards Gala, which will take place this Sunday night, 21 May, 5pm, at Cipriani 42nd St. The event will pay special tribute to Holocaust survivor, renowned author, political activist, and Nobel Peace Laureate, Elie Wiesel, who recently passed away on the 2nd of July 2016.

The advertisement draws close comparison between the crematoria in Auschwitz 1944, and Syria 2017, and along with Wiesel’s personal relation to the Holocaust, the WVN urges President Trump to carry out what it sees as an obligatory humanitarian mission"
Pay attention to those they are honouring at their gala of despicableness.

World Values Network’s Discovery Chairman and CEO David Zaslav will be offering a special verbal and video tribute to Mr. Wiesel at the gala, and will introduce the evening’s Keynote Speaker, Elisha Wiesel, who will present the Elie Wiesel Award, which will be presented to Derek Black. Black is a former White Nationalist who, through the guidance and support of his Jewish friend, Matthew Stevenson, shifted his mindset to respect all people equally.

In the Jewish religion, the Kaddish (mourner's prayer) is recited for 11 months after a family member’s death. The last Kaddish for Elie Wiesel will be said by Elisha during a prayer service at the gala.

The gala will also feature many distinguished guests who, while coming from varying backgrounds and occupations, share a unified dedication and affinity for love towards the Jewish people, and all people in today’s world.

President of Rwanda Paul Kagame will be receiving the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Award for Friendship with the Jewish People, presented by Dr. Mehmet Oz of the Dr. Oz TV Show.
Paul Kagame is a tyrant and mass murderer

Wife of Elie Weisel- Didn't Mr Weisel fabricate abundantly? Gilad Atzmon: Enough of Elie Wiesel
"Wiesel can also read Israeli Sever Plocker’s declaration that “some of (the) greatest murderers of modern times were Jewish.”  Just a few years after the Holodomor, the Yiddish speaking International Brigade murdered Catholics and burned their churches in Spain (1936)"
That's explains the honouring of Paul Kagame!

What should us non jews think of these so called Jewish values?
These values don't look so hot to me!
Honouring killers and liars and demanding nations be bombed. All for the benefit of Israel?
As if Israel doesn't have the blood of tens of thousands of Syrians already on it's hands already.
Chutzpah or what?
"The World Values Network will also honor Israel's Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel, Israel’s Consul General of New York, Dani Dayan, Israel’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, Elie Wiesel's wife, Marion Wiesel, former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, American Hebrew Academy CEO Glenn Drew, and WVN Chairman Michael Fromm. Master of ceremonies will be Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

The World Values Network has emerged as a seminal organization, whose relentless commitment to promoting Jewish values and advocating for a better future is deeply impactful. It has proven to be uniquely effective in carrying out its mission to instill universal Jewish values in modern politics and culture, as well as defend the State of Israel to the mainstream and international media. In conjunction with world leaders of every walk, it furthers these causes to worldwide audiences through media campaigns, debates, and lectures at venues across the globe"

World Values Network

Is that the pompous Bernard Henri Levy front and center?
Quotes from their site below:
"Mission is to disseminate universal Jewish values in politics, culture, and media, making the Jewish people a light unto the nations.
World Values Network is dedicated to disseminating the light of the Jewish people and promoting and defending the state of Israel as the supreme embodiment of a nation founded on these principles"
Seriously, is their mission some kind of sick cruel joke on the non jew?
What are their values if they honour liars, killers and demand President's to bomb other nations based on lies their partners in values, undoubtedly conjured.

Truth Exists; Only Lies Are invented.

From where I sit the crematorium lie was invented. It's a hoax.
There is no credible proof that it exists.

Apparently this is not a first for this group. Haaretz

Times Square Driver US Navy Vet who "heard voices"

Though the accused has two previous arrests for DWI?
I've been staying away from these incidents, however, drivers plowing over pedestrians is getting to be quite the repetitive occurrence- Just an observation.
Germany, France, Australia. Off the top of my head that's all I can recall, refresh my memory if there has been more? Toronto looks to be ripe for the picking..

The driver is ex military.
PTSD? Drunk Driving? Something else entirely? I don't know?
The thought of these self driving/ self parking, easily commandeered cars just keeps rolling over in my mind

Link- Car hacking is not the future, sorry to say, it's present day.

But what the pair discovered is that if the attacker’s message is sent first, with the correct counter, then the real message gets ignored. And if the next message is one further incremented, then the system never fully goes into lockdown, allowing the attacker to control the car: they can turn the steering wheel, hit the gas or slam on the brakes at any speed.
Hindustan Times

A man steered his car onto a sidewalk running through the heart of Times Square and mowed down pedestrians for three blocks Thursday, killing a teenager, then emerged from his wrecked vehicle wild-eyed and waving his arms before he was subdued by police and bystanders. The carnage raised immediate fears of a terrorist attack, but investigators quickly turned their focus to the sobriety and mental health of the driver, identified as Bronx resident Richard Rojas. The driver, a 26-year-old U.S. Navy veteran, told officers he was hearing voices and expected to die, according to two law enforcement officials. Rojas enlisted in the Navy in 2011 and was an electrician’s mate fireman apprentice. In 2012 he served aboard the U.S.S. Carney, a destroyer. He was most recently based at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, and was discharged in 2014.

US Led Coalition Confirms Strike on SAA and Allies

Outrageous! Trump the peacemaker? Never!
RT
The US forces in Syria have bombed a militia group fighting alongside the Syrian government forces in southern Syria on Thursday, the US-led coalition has confirmed.

The coalition said in a statement that the Syrian forces "posed a threat" to US and partner troops at Tanf base near the Syria-Iraq-Jordan border.
"This action was taken after apparent Russian attempts to dissuade Syrian pro-regime movement south towards At Tanf were unsuccessful, a coalition aircraft show of force, and the firing of warning shots," the statement said.
Having commented on the incident, the US Defense Secretary James Mattis said Washington was not deepening its role in the Syrian conflict, but would defend its troops.
Mattis lying through his teeth, of course. With every action the US takes they say their 'not increasing' their role.Who can take them seriously- All they've done is increase their role. Increase the instability. They instigated this whole stinkin' mess all to remake the region. Grr...

The Syrian forces allegedly entered a so-called "de-confliction" zone in the Homs Governorate, which was perceived as a threat to "US-allied troops." The militia forces allegedly clashed with the Pentagon-backed Maghawir Al-Thawra militant group (formerly known as New Syrian Army), which called in coalition air support.
We notified the coalition that we were being attacked by the Syrian army and Iranians in this point and the coalition came and destroyed the advancing convoy," Reuters cited a militant representative as saying.
US special forces have been present in the area "for many months" to train and advise Free Syrian Army fighters. Damascus considers such Washington's presence illegal in the country, as no official invitation has been extended to the US to conduct any military action on its territory.
A tank and a bulldozer were hit during the strike, AP reports, citing unnamed US defense officials. There have been unconfirmed reports of casualties on the Syrian side.

According to Al-Masdar News citing the Syrian military, the coalition warplane entered Syrian airspace from the Jordanian border. It reportedly hit a convoy of five tanks, destroying two of them.
Six military personnel were killed and another three injured, Al-Masdar News reported, citing the military.
The attack does not reflect an escalation in Syria, an unnamed senior US defense official told Fox News, claiming that "there is no change in policy" on Washington's side.
The attacked paramilitary group affiliated with the Syrian army has been given no warning ahead of the strike "in contradiction to what we've heard from the US sources," political commentator from Damascus, Alaa Ibrahim told RT, citing military sources in Syria.
"The area where the attack took place has been a scene of a hectic race between the Syrian army and groups affiliated with it and rebel groups backed by the US-led coalition. There have been reports that the US and Britain are preparing for some kind of land incursion," Ibrahim said.
This is not a situation that going to improve unless the US gets the hell out of Syria.
But clearly they are looking to escalate.

Turkey to be 'elephant in the room' at NATO summit

Janes

Key Points

  • Turkey's political direction is causing a major headache for NATO
  • The purging of thousands of Turkish officers is damaging the TSK's connections with the alliance
When Turkey and its 27 NATO allies gather in Brussels for their first summit meeting with US president Donald Trump on 25 May, defence burden-sharing and fighting terrorism will be their official agenda items - and, not coincidentally, the two challenges Trump has repeatedly hammered as priorities for NATO.
Since the betrayal of Turkey is occurring in plain sight.. for those with eyes to see. Turkey, being the elephant in the room at the next NATO summit is hardly a surprise

Pass the butter: Cutting saturated fat does not reduce heart disease risk

Focus should instead be on eating 'real food,' walking and reducing stress
Real food does not include gallons of pop and piles of fast food.
We’ve talked this topic previously here- what a lie the promotion of saturated fat as detrimental to health was. How it came about? Answer.. Money. Lobbying. The usual.
Wouldn’t doubt that big pharma played a role in this push for massive carb consumption in order to profit from the diabetes epidemic we are now witnessing.

The belief that saturated fat in foods such as butter, cheese and meat clogs arteries is "just plain wrong," a group of cardiologists say in a new editorial.

Instead, the focus should be on eating a Mediterranean-style diet, taking a brisk walk daily and minimizing stress, they say.

After decades of thinking that cutting saturated fat in the diet was associated with lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and death, doctors and researchers now realize there is no association in healthy adults.

Even in people with established heart disease, reducing saturated fat alone doesn't reduce heart attacks, says British cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra, of Lister Hospital, and an adviser to the U.K. national obesity forum.

"One thing that's very clear when you look at the totality of the evidence: saturated fat does not clog the heart arteries. And sadly, for many years — for decades, in fact — this has been the primary focus of treatment of heart disease and public health advice," Malhotra said in an interview.
Insulin resistance

As a result of warnings about saturated fat, some people shifted their diets towards carbohydrates. But an excess of processed carbs and refined carbs also plays a part in developing cardiovascular diseases.

Eating too much white bread, pasta and potatoes raises blood glucose rapidly, Malhotra said. Our bodies respond to those carbs by producing too much insulin.

When insulin levels are chronically high, the hormone stops being able to do its job of getting glucose into cells to provide energy.

When the body becomes resistant to insulin, an inflammatory response is triggered, said cardiologist Dr. Michael Farkouh, who is the chair of multinational clinical trials at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at Toronto General Hospital and was not involved in the editorial.

"What this editorial really brought to light was that your diet, if it's a diet rich in carbohydrates, can be associated with what's called insulin resistance," Farkouh said. "That allows your innate inflammatory process in the body to attack the vessel wall and start the process of hardening of the arteries."

I would drink more than [doctors] suggested I should because I do enjoy martinis," Durant recalled. "I was sneaking a bit of ice cream, which I shouldn't. My big cheat: I eat butter."

Durant appreciates butter is no longer considered a "cheat." Now, his typical dinner is half a plate of vegetables, a protein and a carbohydrate — and a dab of butter.

Rather than focus on one nutrient, we should eat whole foods prepared at home with as natural ingredients as possible, said Russell de Souza, a registered dietitian and nutrition epidemiologist at McMaster University in Hamilton.
So get cookin’. And start growing some of your own food & herbs. This is easily done in containers for those without yards- I actually saw (last summer) an apartment balcony ringed with tomato and pepper plants in containers.  Even a cucumber, which the occupants had put up lattice for the cukes to climb on- I was super impressed.

Help feed the world by feeding yourself as much as possible. You'll feel better, your food will taste better and be vastly more nutritious.

Plants Are Aware When They Are Being Consumed

Plants Are Aware When They Are Being Consumed

This news caught my attention.

Consider it a follow up to: Vegetarian Diet? No Panacea for Environment or Health- Meat Lies Told To Justify Meat Tax

Eating plants also kills the plant. In other words vegetarians are consuming death- plant death- and insect death. Pollinator death. Etc. That's one of the memes regarding meat consumption- "You're eating death"There is no consumption for survival, by any living creature, that does not depend completely on other life being lost.
I have no issue with this concept. It’s completely sensible. Plants emit all types of signals/communications. To their pollinators. How do you think pollinators find their plants in need of pollination?. It's not random. Link
Electric signal exchange is likely just one way
Flowers exploit insects to achieve pollination; at the same time insects exploit flowers for food. Insects and flowers are a partnership.
Each insect group has evolved different sets of mouthparts to exploit the food that flowers provide. From the insects' point of view collecting nectar or pollen is rather like fitting a key into a lock; the mouthparts of each species can only exploit flowers of a certain size and shape.
Plants use electric fields to communicate with bees, scientists have learned.
Bumblebees are able to find and decipher weak electric signals emitted by flowers, according to the study.
Tests revealed that bees can distinguish between different floral fields, as if they were petal colours. The electric signals may also let the insects know if another bee has recently visited a flower.
Why not an awareness with protective response!  It makes sense for survival of the living plant and it's extended family

Link
Experiments show chewing vibrations, but not wind or insect song, cause response
As the cabbage butterfly caterpillar takes one crescent-shaped bite at a time from the edge of a leaf, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

This tiny Arabidopsis mustard plant hears its predator loud and clear as chewing vibrations reverberate through leaves and stems, and it reacts with chemical defenses. Plants have long been known to detect sound, but why they have this ability has remained a mystery.
University of Missouri experiments mark the first time scientists have shown that a plant responds to an ecologically relevant sound in its environment.
“What is surprising and cool is that these plants only create defense responses to feeding vibrations and not to wind or other vibrations in the same frequency as the chewing caterpillar,” said Heidi Appel, an investigator at MU’s Bond Life Sciences Center and senior research scientist in the Division of Plant Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
“these plants only create defense responses to feeding vibrations”. Which indicates plants can discern. They can discern threat from non threat and can respond in kind.

Moved by the sound

Recording the sound is just the start.

You can’t put headphones on a leaf, so tiny piezoelectric actuators – essentially a tiny speaker that plays back vibrations instead of airborne sound – is required.

“It’s a delicate process to vibrate leaves the way a caterpillar does while feeding, because the leaf surface is only vibrated up and down by about 1/10,000 of an inch,” Cocroft said. “But we can attach an actuator to the leaf with wax and very precisely play back a segment of caterpillar feeding to recreate a typical 2-hour feeding session.”

Appel and Cocroft tested whether these chewing sounds could create more chemical defenses in the plants and whether these feeding recordings primed defenses when played before an actual caterpillar ate part of a leaf.

“We looked at glucosinolates that make mustards spicy and have anticancer properties and anthocyanins that give red wine its color and provide some of the health benefits to chocolate, Appel said. “When the levels of these are higher, the insects walk away or just don’t start feeding.”

The researchers played 2 hours of silence to some Arabidopsis plants and 2 hours of caterpillar-chewing noises to others. They then chose three leaves around the plant, and allowed caterpillars to eat about a third of each leaf.  After giving the plants 24 to 48 hours to respond to the caterpillar attack, they harvested the leaves for chemical analysis.

When they found higher levels of glucosinolates in the plants that were exposed to chewing vibrations, they knew they were on the right track.

A similar second experiment went further, testing whether the plants would simply respond to any vibration, or whether their response was specific to chewing vibrations. In this case Appel analyzed anthocyanins, which again were elevated – but only when plants had been exposed to chewing vibrations but not to vibrations created by wind or the sounds of a non-harmful insect.

The National Science Foundation seems to agree with the merit of their endeavor, awarding a grant to extend this project.

The next step includes looking at how other types of plants respond to insect predator sounds and pinpointing precisely what features of the sounds trigger the change in plant defenses.

These questions aim to further basic research understanding of how plants know what’s going on to respond appropriately to their environment. This could one day lead to ways to create better plants.
Sadly, rather then just gaining  better understanding about how it is plants sense and respond, Science, of course, has to manipulate the understanding for ownership and profit- Sickens and angers me to think of this atrocious behaviour - and the stupidity of manipulating plant life “to make better plants”- When we already have the perfect plant life for our needs and the needs of this planet. Including plant pollinators.

Rerun alert! Erdogan "bodyguards" Clash With Protestors?

Wash, rinse, repeat. Wash, rinse, repeat.

This nearly exact type of incident occurred last year- March 2016- It got coverage all over the 5 eyes media- main and alt and it was as contrived, faked and as out of touch with reality as one would imagine any sort of staged psyop could be.

March 31/2016: Staged Provocation of Turkey's Security Detail- Aided by Amnesty International & Brookings

Not even certain if that was actually Turkey's security detail or just a bunch of posers last year.
Check out the no volume videos that made their way around- bolstered by headlines of outrage.
I checked the videos are still accessible.  Presently, just like last year, the Kurd victim meme was at play. Expect 5 eyes media, msm and alt,  to play this up with abundant outrage to boot!

Wash, rinse, repeat and YAWN!

May 17/2017: Erdogan's "bodyguards" Clash with Protestors

According to witnesses, the demonstrators, some carrying the flag of the Kurdish PYD (Democratic Union Party), were attacked by Erdogan's bodyguards outside the Turkish embassy, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Video footage on Facebook shows several people, including men dressed in black suits, trading punches.
Yup the video shows several men in black suits, no identification of who they are.  No indication how this began. Video appears to begin afterwards- Why wasn't the actual attack shown?
A women who may or may not be injured- no clue how it happened? Even the security woman says "I'm  not seeing anything"  Where are you hurt? Man with blood, holding cloth to his head- Voice off camera saying "this is a really deep cut" (very briefly shown)  to focus on bloodied  shirt.. lots of confusion I'm not convinced that what is being claimed is what has actually occurred. Already, there is abundant social media coverage, bolstered by 5 eyes coverage...
"Some of the men were seen kicking people as they lay on the ground," claims Buzzfeed News.
Demonstrators Flint Arthur told CNN: "They think they can engage in the same sort of suppression of protest and free speech that they engage in in Turkey.
Of course David Frum ( Canadian neo- con GWB "axis of evil") joins in with the media psyop
Footage of the latest incident provoked outrage online. "Why is Erdogan allowed to bring goons with him into the United States?" tweeted David Frum, senior editor of The Atlantic.
Blake Hounshell, US editor of Politico magazine, laid the blame for the "insane" incident at the door of President Erdogan

I don't know who the men in suits are? Perhaps their the infamous 'men in black'?
In among the aliens?
Continuing to watch the video- the man with the cloth to his "deep gash" which should probably be stitched if it's so bad appears to be walking around still
And then a monologue.. Nice piece of theatre.
The video continues... more unsubstantiated claims- I've nearly gotten through ten plus minutes.

Narrator continues with an unsubstantiated tale-  Narrator keeps saying ambulance is their caring for people- It's not shown.

Nice neuro linguistic delivery- "here we are" "here we are" "here we are"
The protestors continue on chanting... guess they aren't really hurt
I've watched 15 minutes and that's it for me.
Sorry folks, I ain't buying what's being sold there

"Sad day for Washington"
"Sad day for Washington"
"Sad day for Washington"

Has it been hash tagged yet? Or maybe it will be "here we are"?

UPDATED: As expected this story has racer's legs and is going full tilt!

Washington Times- Alleged Turkish Security ...changed but original is there
NBC Washington & Irish Independent  Wall Street Journal
And John McCain, Crazy John McCain, condemns thuggish behaviour
claiming "we don't do this in America" what a moron- America does that and worse in America, all over the world, who the hell is he kidding? - We still have NO verification of who the alleged attackers really were?
Oh well Saddam had nukes and Bashar Assad gassed his own people- Trial by media.

UPDATE # 2:
Link

"The background of the two men arrested wasn't immediately clear." Translation- Not Turks affiliated with Erdogan
Ayten Necmi, 49, of Woodside, New York, was charged with aggravated assault, police said, after a woman who was thrown to the ground and kicked identified Necmi as her attacker.

Jalal Kheirabadi, 42, of Fairfax, Virginia, is charged with assaulting a police officer, who refused treatment for lacerations to his face.
Kheirabadi told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he joined the demonstration. Kheirabadi said he is a Kurd (who just happened to assault a police officer?)
Court paperwork spells his name Kheirabaoi, but he said that is incorrect. The document says he struck an officer in the face...
Definitely a psychological operation- Maybe some people got hurt? Maybe. But, it was all for the perception management.

This is just the beginning- the prep for what's going to come out of the Trump/Erdogan meeting

Israeli Minister/Former IDF "Time Has Come To Assasinate Assad"

Yoav Galant, currently Housing and Construction Minister, told an audience at a conference near Jerusalem on Tuesday.

“In my view, we are crossing a red line. And in my view, the time has come to assassinate Assad. It’s as simple as that,”  the former Israel Defence Force (IDF) Southern Command General said.
Outrageous!

James Petrus: US Betraying Turkey- Remaking the Middle East/Asia/Africa

FINALLY!!
Someone way more mainstream then myself is saying that which has been said here, yet obfuscated by others, for years.. A sigh of relief. My question is where has Mr Petrus been all these years?  Same as all the other alternative media, missing in action? Why?!
I suppose this means the rest of the so called  (Yes, I'm intending the sarcasm) alt media will finally start talking about the remake the region plan, already long at play?

James Petrus via Dissident Voice
JP: "For the past 20 years Washington has aggressively pursued the age-old imperial strategy of ‘divide and conquer’ throughout the Middle East, Southwest Asia and East Africa"
flashback: US Plan to Arm PKK/YPG is a Declaration of War Against Turkey
The US arming of the PKK /YPG is indeed an issue of existence or non- existence, a matter of survival for Turkey.  The fact is the USrael doesn’t want Turkey to survive as it is today.
This plan to destroy Turkey, as it has been occurring in plain sight,  is one that has been written about here, for years.

JP: The US directly invaded Afghanistan expecting to easily conquer and ‘neatly’ subdivide that enormous region and ‘skillfully’ pit the various regional ethno-tribal groups against each other – while setting up a lucrative and militarily strategic site for launching future wars against US (and Israeli) rivals in Iran, Central Asia and China.
JP:Syria has effectively been ‘chopped up’ by competing imperial and regional powers leading to a possible confrontation among major powers. The US-Kurdish-Turkey conflict provides the most immediate danger of serious open warfare among major nations.
 Yes, it does.
JP: The US escalated its military support for the YPG, promising heavy arms and increased US ground and air support. Meanwhile, the YPG expanded its control of the Kurdish regions in Syria especially along the Turkish border, creating a powerful territorial tie of Syrian-Kurds with Turkish-Kurds and Iraqi-Kurds. The US generous supply of heavy weapons to the YPG has increased the Kurds capacity to fight Turkey for the establishment of a contiguous ‘Greater Kurdistan’. Moreover, the US government has publicly informed Turkey that its armed forces will provide a ‘shield’ to protect the YPG – and indirectly the PKK – from Turkish attack.
Exactly as I've stated here- The US declared war on Turkey and the significance of that was lost on the 5 eyes media extension masquerading as alternative media  Just looking at the logical fallacies employed throughout that piece of dis/misinfo masquerading as alternative opinion?  Reads like 5 eyes/USIsraeli disinfo to me.

JP: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is acutely aware that the YPG’s goal is to partition Southeastern Turkey and Northern Syria and form a Kurdish state with Iraqi Kurdistan. US Defense Secretary James Mattis’ pledge that ‘Washington is committed to protecting its NATO ally (Turkey)’ is ambiguous at best and most likely a hollow promise. Washington is counting on the Kurds as a strategic ally against both Damascus and ISIS. Only after accomplishing their twin goals in Syria might the Pentagon turn against the Kurds and support the Turkish government.
flashback  November 24/ 2014: Pt.2- Kurd/ ISIS Symbiosis- The impending destruction of Turkey
I suspect Turkey is in the process of being double crossed- And, I believe Erdogan is aware of this. We have seen this type of double cross on more then one occasion. Libya had attempted to cooperate with the US only to be betrayed and Gaddafi brutally killed. Syria had also attempted to appease the US, again, only to find itself caught in the crosshairs of the NATO global tyranny nexus dominated by US/Israeli/UK interests.

Turkey is being prepped for that same treatment. It's been a plan in the making for at least 12 plus years, but, likely much longer.
JP: "The Erdoğan regime is in a quandary: A victory for the Kurdish YPG and their occupation of territory along its border will materially threaten the ‘unity of the Turkish state’.
JP:"President Erdoğan is clearly aware that the US was involved with the silent ‘Gulanist’ permeation of the Turkish state leading up to the 2016 abortive Gulanist coup"
Recall  the 5 eyes, main stream and alt media, actually spun a 'conspiracy theory' regarding Erdogan creating the coup that nearly took his life as a false flag? I thought that incredible considering the usual ridicule dished up by the 5 eyes and that specific alt outlet regarding conspiratorial thinking? (No 9/11 questioning allowed)

flashback:  Turkey/US: Cat & Mouse. Creating Kurdistan aka Israel 2.0 Has Been A Mass Bloodletting
JP "Washington hopes to convince President Erdoğan that the YPG will hand this strategic territory over  (LOL) to an amorphous, minuscule puppet Arab-led militia, presumably made up of non-Kurdish collaborates of the US-NATO-Saudi war against Damascus. It is hard to imagine the veteran politician Erdoğan believing a Pentagon plan for the YPG to just hand over its territorial patrimony"
JP: "One point is clear: A territorially-based powerful Kurdish militia, armed by the US, will be far more formidable threat to the unity of the Turkish state than the previous ill-armed rag-tag guerrillas in the mountains of northern Iraq.
It will be a humiliating defeat if Erdoğan surrenders to Pentagon demands and tolerates a US-YPG alliance on Turkey’s border. Erdoğan has some powerful options of his own: Turkey might deny the US Armed Forces access to its huge airbases in Turkey thus weakening NATO’s ‘southern flank’. A Turkish threat to withdraw from NATO altogether would have greater repercussions. Even the slightest hint of exercising these options would set off a ‘second coup’ against Erdoğan.
This would involve a more serious US-NATO-backed uprising by senior Turkish officers, ‘nationalists’, democratic secularists and Kurds in major urban centers with ‘Gulanist’ politicians and bureaucrats waiting in the wings.
President Trump and the Pentagon may gain a foothold against Damascus with Kurdish surrogates in Northern Syria, but the loss of Turkey will be a strategic setback. Behind all of this confusion and devastation the partition of Syria and, eventually of Turkey, fits in very well with Greater Israel’s ‘Oded Yinon Plan’ for subdividing Muslim countries"

flashback: November 19 2014: Kurd/ ISIS Symbiosis - The Impending Destruction of Turkey.
“It seems much more likely that there is cooperation and coordination between the Kurds and ISIS. It’s a thought that has been in the back of my mind for sometime now. When one takes a look at the land grabbed by ISIS and the desired Kurdistan one can’t help but see something taking shape. Something like a new nation.”

Israel's Kind of Middle East and Asia-

Putin: Russia Will Not Supply PKK/YPG With Weapons

Putin: Russia Will Not Supply PKK/YPG With Weapons

Wanted to get to this yesterday. It didn't happen. Long time readers are aware I am no fan of out of context quotes- So when anonymous left the comment below, to which I responded noting the lack of direct quotation.

Moscow maintains working contacts with Syrian Kurds as they are among most capable units in fight against ISIL - Putin

It's a shame he said that at all! At least he didn't say they are the best or only effective fighters- That would have been an insult to SAA- still....it's not surprising to read that type of thing from him- interfax without quotations-

And no context. I went to search for exactly what was stated by Putin and what was the situation/context for this statement. What I found was rather interesting

Sputnik

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed participants of the Belt and Road Investment Forum in Beijing, China.

On May 14-15, the Chinese capital has hosted the international forum dedicated to the initiative of Beijing to develop infrastructure in Eurasia and to strengthen ties between the countries of the continent. The event is expected to gather together dozens of world leaders, including Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko among others.
We have Putin in Bejing at an investment forum taking questions

Support of Kurds in Syria

When asked whether Russia supplies Kurdish fighters with arms in Syria, Putin said that Moscow, unlike the US, doesn't do that.
"Unlike other countries, we do not announce the supply of weapons to Kurdish units, and they do not much need our deliveries. They have… other sources of receiving these weapons. We do not believe that we need to somehow intensify this work," Putin said.
They (Russia) don't supply weapons because the Kurds don't need our (Russian) weapons.
Obviously they don't since the US supplies them everything they need and more.

Digression: I am wondering about the use of the word announce? Does it imply secrecy? Is it a translation thing? The rest of Putin's statement appears to state no weapons are supplied because they aren't needed and most sensibly not asked for.

"Since the Kurdish factor is a real factor in the situation in Syria, and Kurdish fighting units take part in military operations against the so-called Islamic State [Daesh terrorist group] and are among the most combat efficient units, we consider ourselves entitled to maintain with them working contacts, at least in order to avoid possible clashes and situations that could create threats to our servicemen," Putin said.
Let's talk about what Putin said above:

"Kurdish fighting units take part in military operations against the so-called Islamic State"

"the so called Islamic State"

That's interesting.  Using so called denotes sarcasm. Why is Putin being sarcastic when referencing the Kurdish military operations against the so called Islamic state?

"among the most combat efficient units"

Putin says they are among the most combat efficient units.
What makes them so efficient? (competent/capable)
The US arms? The US bombing? The unlimited US support? The embedded special ops forces? The support of Israel? The UK? Certainly all these factors would make the Kurds very efficient.  Considering the Kurdish militias have every conceivable advantage possible, could calling them efficient simply be a statement of the obvious?
Is Putin's statement one of admiration? Or support?
Or is it just an observation based on available information?
Of course, we don't know what Putin was thinking when he said this. But, I'm not jumping to conclusions about support or admiration for these militias. Maybe? Maybe not?

"we consider ourselves entitled to maintain with them working contacts"

I'm quite sure that Russia does maintain all manner of contact with them.

G&M

G&M spins Putin's statement as lauding. Was he lauding/praising?
Perhaps he was being facetious? He did use "so called" in the same sentence.
Perhaps he was expressing known observations/common talking points? I don't know?
Neither does the Globe and Mail.

"Putin on Monday lauded the Kurdish fighters as "one of the most efficient units" against IS and said Russia has "working contacts" with them"
Putin insisted in televised comments that Moscow would not arm the Kurds because "they have other sources of obtaining the weapons."
